i was told by pmackin that he can somehow look up any information of my laptop by serial too... i'm sorry pmackin, but i cannot just trust you by giving you that.. i dont know what one might be able to do with that, nor do i know what you can do to retrieve anything either

and he conveniently ignored my question in my thread... does anybody know if anyone can retrieve info about a machine by serial (aside from when was it made and all that), and if so how? is that something i can do?

thanks (and if you can answer me those, i might be able to trust you more:eek: )

Most lemon laws state 3 repair attempts for the same problem in a certain time period (RI for cars is 1 year/15k miles) before refund or replacement must be offered by the manufacturer. Not all of these laws apply to personal electronics though, some are limited strictly to cars.

unless IM 100% wrong, I cant see anything wrong with knowing someone elses computers SN, as it is useless except for tracking it like the person who is trying to help you would do.

apple customer service refuses to replace my macbook because the battery is a user servicable part and it is already in the process of getting to me. sorry guys, ill be leaving macrumors. i wont support a company that treats its customers like ****. so when i get my battery ill be selling my computer on ebay and returning my ipods to costco. I'm gonna go back to windows...ugh... oh well.

MacRumors has nothing to do with Apple the company, directly.

so leave if you wish, you wont be missed. ;)

MacRumors didnt not replace your MacBook, but if you feel you can find the same info elsewhere, you are welcome to go forth and be fruitful.

macrumors is a site about apple products. if i dont have any apple products it really doesnt make any sense for me to be on here. kinda like owning a chevy and being signed up for a ford racing site. you should ask before making judgements.

Have fun with Windows. Maybe when your Windows laptop breaks, you'll realize that you should call the company and state your case instead of starting bitch and moan thread on dellrumors.com

I don't think he made judgments... He pretty much said that MacRumors isn't associated with Apple...

Personally I get what the big deal is. They fixed your computer, and its true a battery is nothing. They will even mail you one if you want (and its broken). And the random shutting down was a firmware problem if I remember, it's not like the computer was overheating, the HDD failed (B-tree node), it couldn't recognize RAM, and it needed a new bezel, like mine.

To me, it honestly doesn't seem like you are having a major problem, just seems like like you had two very minor problems.

lol - posts like this make me smile:

"my computer was broken and they're fixing it, but I want a new one, so I'm leaving! and while I'm at it, I'm going to take completely unrelated products and return them to their respective stores. that'll stick it to 'em!"

Have a grand old time.

You'll be missed. It just won't be the same around here without you.

A Windows laptop vendor replacing a computer before Apple would? Not likely.

Battery is on it's way to you and you can't wait to see if it resolves your problem?

I can't help but think there's more to this story than what was posted.

look at this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/259761/

I too got my macbook replaced (for a minor issue only - mouse pad wasn't too firm) I don't recommend judging a whole company by one lame manager. Maybe he was just having a bad day, maybe he really is a dick, maybe you needed to negotiate better.

it helps to understand your post if you put some commas(,) and periods(.) in there

and did you get your macbooks replaced or repaired?

geez you guys are ultra loyal to apple. Isn't having to go to the Apple Store six times for six hardware related problems, four of those were shipped off to a depot considered excessive? Hell, my friend had an Emachines that broke less than that.

A lot of us are very similar in other areas as well. Things broke, apple fixed them, and there's currently nothing wrong with your computer, other than the battery that is being shipped to you brand new from Apple.

Your lappy broke, and they fixed it.

What's the problem? What will a new one give you that your current one does not? Oh, a core2 duo instead of a core duo?

But seriously, what do you think you'll gain by trading your computer that's working fine for another computer that's (hopefully) working fine?

And the reason we're jumping on you is you're making yourself sound like a whiney 14 year old. it has nothing to do with apple.
