I’ve just purchased some AirPods Pro from a third party. Is it still possible to purchase AppleCare+ after the fact? Can you purchase online as you would do another Apple product?

Yes, I just did this. I got Airpods for my birthday (mid July). And just went to the Applecare website, where you check the coverage. I entered the serial number and it gave me an option to purchase Applecare +.

If the third party is an individual and it has been more than 60 days since he or she first purchased the AirPods Pro, you won’t be able to purchase AC+.

Actually it might not pertain to the OP but anybody in the boat recently and idk if it’s retroactive but you now have a full year to get Apple Care plus. Idk if that counts with headphones but they just announced that

If its a retailer, it is a roll of the dice. I haven’t heard too many stories about not being able to register. Call Apple and go through the purchase process for AC+. You can also purchase through your iPhone, provided you have paired them with your iCloud account.

You can. I got my iPad Pro 11 gen 1 at microcenter , then got apple care monthly plan a few days later

What reason did they give? Your post was short on detail!

I bought them last week and when I put the serial number in to purchase AppleCare I got this message.

We’re sorry.
This serial number is no longer eligible for an AppleCare product

I’d chat with Argus then. Dunno what they’re like now, but I seem to remember them being easy to deal with 20 odd years ago before I left the shores and became another “bloody American”.

I’d also reach out to Apple to see if you can get a manufacturing date.
