I ordered my mbp with applecare and it was just delivered 2 days ago. I never got the applecare package and my order status for it is "complete", so does that mean it has already been activated for me?

When you order AppleCare with a computer from the Apple Store, Apple auto-enroll's your computer. See pic.

That being said, you can check the status of your warranty be entering your serial number at the bottom of this page.

hmm...I thought i would just check the applecare status of my SR MBP, and it says that the serial number isn't recognised.

Any ideas?

Did you type it in, or copy and paste it? If you typed, try copying and pasting just to make sure you didn't make a mistake.

I typed it in 3 times.
Where can I copy and paste it from?

As far as i know, you can only get it from under the battery (quite hard to copy/paste from there!), or by clicking 'about this mac' and then clicking the top bit.

But when i click it to copy the info, it moves to the next screen!

Just goto 'About this Mac' then goto 'More Info' and highlight the serial in the first pane and copy :)

Do you order it online or buy it at the Apple Store?

If you purchase at the store you have to activate it.

The guys at my store told me that people buy it all of the time and think that just because they purchased it they did not have to do any more and never open the box. You have to open and activate for it to go into effect.

Got it online. never got a CD with it, just the hefty warranty manual you get with applecare.

I'll give applecare a bell tomorrow to make sure its safe!

That's odd, I thought you'd get the Techtool Deluxe software with it. Unless it's already installed or something?

I just got my mac on the 6th, (I ordered it on the 23rd) I got my applecare on the 8th or 9th. Even though it said it shipped it the week I ordered it I didn't actually receive it until days after I got my macbook pro. And I got it via USPS not FedEx

Ive had my mbp for 2 months or so now and everything came together, just no applecare CD. Even if I didnt get applecare, my serial number should still be recognised on the apple support site no?
