I'm pretty pissed off at AppleCare. They wasted 2 days of my time telling me I had to drive my Imac a long, long ways to a Apple repair shop. I live away from any big city but when I called AppleCare they said I had to take it in to this shop. When I got it back the darn thing still wouldn't work so I called them back and only then did they say they would send a tech to my home. I asked them why they didn't tell me that the first time and save me two days plus a bunch of gas money? The guy at Apple acted dumb at that but the tech came the next day and fixed my Imac for good and it works great. Why the hell did AppleCare lie to me by not telling me my contract says I have repair available at my residence? I am still really angry.

Thats very annoying. Would have been nice of them to offer that first. Nothing anyone here can do abuot it though. Why don't you craft a nicely worded letter that calmly lays out what happened and ask for a response. They may make it right for you. Only comunicating with them will change anything.

Did you ever think you don't have on-site repair in your 'contract' (assuming you mean warranty), and only got it because the iMac wasn't fixed the first time?

I don't know the details, but you could be taking a good deed on Apple's end and making it sound very negative.

However, since you post absolutely zero details, we don't know. Its just a 1 sided tail that you spin in your favor.

Look on the bright side. iMac fixed? yes. Did you get what you wanted? yes.

Over here they send you a box, which you put it in, send it back and once its repaired send it back to you again.

Is it not the same in the states?

That's how it should be right? I'm thinking of extending AppleCare on my Mac Mini when it's 1 year comes up soon. I'd like to know I'd be taken care of.

To my knowledge AppleCare doesn't send people out to your home. I've worked for Apple for 4 years now and I've never, ever heard of this happening…. so it seems like they made a huge exception to their rules to help you out.

Next time don't come on here and whine. Think about the fact that AppleCare helped you through your problem, above and beyond what your contract with them stipulates.

That's true in the States the last time I checked.

Note the unsubstantiated fake story is by a 1 post newbie. Apple Care does not offer in home service:

Apple has a note on my account that they must dispatch a tech to me. Nearest apple store is 20 miles one way. I explained that from day one when i called applecare and that i wasnt about to drive back and forth. Very simple. If its a laptop, they send me a box. if its a desktop, someone comes out.
