I just got off the phone with Apple to purchase AppleCare+ for my 2019 5K iMac and was informed that the cost with Edu discount has increased from $135 to $159. This increase has happened fairly recently, as I purchased the iMac at the end of September and the price for AppleCare+ at the time of purchase was still $135. From what I was told and can verify myself, everything about the plan and what it offers is the same, so the price increase offers nothing additional for the increased price.

That AC+ discount was only valid during the back to school promo period, otherwise it’s always $159. Quite lame on Apple’s part imo.

Didn’t know that it was part of the back to school promo at that price. It was never stated anywhere that I saw when purchasing the iMac. Even the Apple phone rep didn’t explain the price increase in that way. He actually offered no explanation. I agree, pretty lame on Apple’s part. At least I got the free headphones during the promo.
