Yes, I suggested this to them many times a year ago.

However, now I have to wonder:

My 20-inch ACD warranty ends mid-February. Do you guys think it is worth the $100 to extend the warranty two years on a LCD?

I'd say go for it. It will cover any discoloration or problems with dead pixels that might occur over the next two years. Also, it's only $100 so it's practically a steal coming from Apple.

That's a good question. I guess it would depend on a couple of things. If you purchased the ACD with a credit card that doubles the original mfg warranty (ie, amex, and many platnum cards have this benefit) then it's probably not as necessary to get applecare. Sure, it will extend coverage to 3 years instead of 2, but there's a much smaller gap between having 2 and 3 years vs. having 1 and 3 years of coverage. The second thing is since it's the 20" display, I think you have less to worry about since most of the problems that people have had with the ACDs are with the 23" (pink cast) displays.

So in short, it's hard to say. Sorry, wish I could give you a more definitive answer.

I agree Apples warranties are usually worth the extra cost; all it takes is one repair and it will pay for itself. Not to mention piece of mind is worth something too.

This is great.. I'm definetly going to get it - two years extra in a monitors lifespan is nothing. Anything can happen, dead pixels, backlight and all would cost more than $100 to repair.

Yeah, the card I got it with does give an extra one year warranty. However, do you have any idea how hard it is to actually get them to honor those? Have you had any experience with it? Thanks!
