I am curious how everyone feels about AppleCare+ for the new M2 MacBook Air?

I am leaning toward getting it since its a new form factor, especially after hearing about some of the issues people had with the butterfly keyboard and some screen issues from a while back. Otherwise, I don't see myself bringing it out of the house often or getting roughed up.

Absolutely get it!

It has nothing to do with the butterfly keyboard because even without AppleCare that issue was being taken care of.

It has to do with it slipping out of your hands and shattering when it lands on concrete or a glass of water falling over on your desk. There are so many ways to cause significant and expensive damage to a laptop.

If you were asking about a desktop I would probably say no unless you know you are somehow crazy rough on electronics. I bought it on my iMac and I don’t think it was necessary because short of me knocking the whole desk over it wasn’t going to fall and any liquid spills would not get near it. The worst thing that could get damaged would be the Magic keyboard and that’s not very expensive

On my MacBook Air I absolutely purchased it because I know there’s a reasonable chance of something bad happening to it.

I can not tell you how much Apple Care has saved me over the years. It covers everything you purchase at the time of sale.

These new mac's are not user friendly in trying to fix so if anything goes wrong they will give you a new system.
