Applecare from ebay

I purchased my MBP from Apple online Canada. Will Applecare work if I buy it from Ebay (US seller) or do i have to buy it according to my location ?

I would suggest you to call up a local apple store and confirm with someone there. But I would assume that it is all the same.

Please do share your findings with us if you did call apple

Its hard to call the store or apple online and ask them "will the ebay stuff work?" since they will try to convince you not to buy from ebay but their retail store with their blah blah story. Anyone outside of US bought applecare from ebay US seller ?

There are one or two threads about this - from what I've read here and on other forums, it's fine (just check out the seller first).

I got my Macbook from the online Canada store, and my Applecare off eBay. No problems at all registering it. Even called up Apple to make sure it was registered (and it is).
