Well here is the story, I had a 1.5 Ghz 15" powerbook I paid $1499, the day they 1.67Ghz was release, the only difference was 0.167 Mhz, and I paid $700 bucks less ( purchased at Good Guys), when to the Apple Store across the road and got the upgrade Apple care, this was febrary 7th 2005.
In April my thermosat stop working and I ended up sending in my Powerbook for repairs, I was in Germany at the time, and it was shipped to the UK. When I got it back the case was damaged, and I could not put DVD in the drive.
I could not send it back into Apple in europe so I called Apple in the USA, and setup and turn in for when I got back to California (it was 3 weeks later).
I send my powerbook in and was fixed on the 13th June. but on the website it said pending shipment. after 10days of this message I called AppleCare and ask what up, they said in final test before shipment the logic board reported errors. They did a part search, and nothing was available until mid july (this news was like some girl friend just dumped me, and yank my heart out). The nice Apple care lady said sorry and ask if I wanted to speak to customer service, I said ok, and she patch me though. This guy said sorry and offered to replace the unit with a MacBook Pro 2.0 Ghz, 1GB memory in 1 memory board( I have 1.25 GB of ram in the powerbook).
I am so impressed with this customer service, they were polite, and replaced my powerbook G4.
I am happy, but the bad news is I will no longer able to play Americas Army, it does not play well on the intel.
