I was having some issues with the Airport Setup Asst. and Admin Utility, and the fella I spoke to with Applecare told me to delete it, then download it off the internet.

A half hour later, I discovered that downloading the software was not an option.

I called Apple back, and they told me to reinstall Tiger. I'm in the middle of doing my finals, and will not take such a risk, but my roommate is getting irate about the lack of internet for him.

Does anyone know where I can find the Admin Utility, Setup Assistant and Activity Monitor (finger slipped while deleting ) online, or on the Tiger DVD?

Can you use the CD that came with the Airport (which will be an old version of the software) and then Airport Software 4.1 to update it to the current version?

The Airport Management Utility (part of the Airport Management tools - see link on the right of the main Airport support pages) also has a way of reconfiguring the base station directly rather than through the normal Admin Utility (useful in the short term perhaps?)

The APX box is in Wisconsin.. I downloaded 4.1, and OSX said that I can't install it (because of a newer version), and I was not aware of the Airport Management tools. I'll look into that.

As for the trash, it's been emptied, and my roommate's peecee can't see the Airport.

Should've talked to a 'Mac Genius' instead...

In the meantime, why don't you ebay your Airport Base Station and get a web-admin-based Wireless router by Belkin, Linksys, Microsoft or D-Link for $30 or less?

I've always liked those because they can be accessed by anybody on the network (with the password). That, and you can usually get them for free (if you shop around).

If worse comes to worse - you could share your internet connection (if you have a spare ethernet card + a long cable).

As far as Pacisfist? I've never had any luck using that to reinstall an app. For example, my iChat.app self-corrupted and I was told (by people here) to delete it and reinstall it using Pacifist. No such luck. My only other option was to reinstall 10.3 (aka, the 'Windows Solution' - as we called it) - so I said hello to AIM instead.
