Keep reading this board, the topic has been discussed plenty times before.

You can add AppleCare+ Premium for $5.99 per month. It is worth it for sure. Honestly that case is not even necessary, it sounds like you take good care of your device. And you can use it without a case, or maybe with a thin minimalistic magnetic folio type case.

I like to feel my devices, they’re very thin, light weight, and easy to maneuver.

That cases probably triples it’s thickness, and adds a lot of weight.

Not to mention the cost of that case to begin with.

I have had several iPad, I purchased apple care for the first one. I have not purchased it since. I guess I’ve been lucky, I’ve never needed it.

Ultimately, it's an insurance policy. Like any such policy, it's never needed... until it is.

That is no say, you can never really know. What you're buying is the peace of mind of knowing that if something does happen to your device you are covered. Only you can really decide if it's worth it in your particular situation.

I've never purchased apple care ever. I've probably had 50 devices over the years. I'm good with my stuff so I never need it. if I needed to replace something now, I'd be way ahead of the game anyway.

This has been my feeling regarding extended warranties - the money I've saved over the years (and I'm in my 60's) by not buying them more than covers any possible payout on my part now. So far, I have never been in a situation where one would have helped. There's also possible additional coverage you may have through your credit card.

Unless you're accident-prone and tend to break a lot of things (some would call it "bad luck"), it sounds like your device is low-risk for having any issues. The only reason to buy it would be if you're worried that the device might fail prematurely.

I've been through a lot of Apple products over the years. Sometimes I bought AppleCare, but these days I don't. I think there have only been two or three times when I needed to go to Apple for servicing. Each time the issue was recognized as a widespread defect that would have been covered regardless of my AppleCare status... which was good, because one of them (a motherboard failure) occurred a few weeks after my extended AppleCare expired. (Classic story, that...)

But there is something to be said for peace of mind. If you're worried, get it and don't worry.

I baby the heck out of my iPad *knock on wood it stays awesome... but for $6 a month for 2 years insurance?... It's way worth it, (especially since the newer iPads will come out in 2020 and this insurance protects my iPad until then.) Also, if I ever want to sell it, I get more return. :)

Buy AppleCare+.

Also, buy a different case. Take it out to see if the case has bent your device (if this is the case that has the circle around the apple logo). Chances are it has, since I’ve seen multiple 11” and 12.9” iPad Pros with those cases displaying bent enclosures, but it also sounds like your iPad is pretty stationary.

That also makes it ineligible for buying AppleCare+ and will cost roughly 60% to switch it through the Genius Bar.

Good luck.

I second this,

Some would think I’m crazy but the IPad Pro is my main device and the way i cost it out is with apple care , i expect to own this for 2 years so it costs me $850 a year CAD to run this thing. Since i use it for everything its a great deal and i know I’m covered for damage.

I’m not prone to breaking things and i take great care of my stuff , however 1 day after owning this i had almost dropped it 2 times on ceramic floor. So i think the warranty is worth a few dollars in comparison to what i spent on it. Almost dropping it went away after a few days getting used to carrying it in the new case it has.

AppleCare+ also gives me a large advantage when travelling , i know i will be safe no matter where i am to have this back up and running fast.

Good luck

If you use it everyday get applecare+ because the battery wears out and causes display and touchscreen problems.

I've owned a lot of iPads and my 12.9 inch Pro 2018 was the first i bought the AppleCare for, i'm doing the $5.99 a month option and well worth the six bucks for this 1st gen product

With the amount the pro costs I would get Apple care as I wouldn’t want to have to pay that much out to replace it. I’ve got Apple care for my iPad Pro.
