Hi,

Just wanted to check with people here.

If I buy AppleCare will it give me coverage in the US and Europe, checked the legal papers for AppleCare and found this

"d. This Plan is offered and valid only in the fifty states of the United States of America, the
District of Columbia and Canada. This Plan is not offered to persons who have not reached the
age of majority. This Plan is not available where prohibited by law."

Does that mean that if I'm in Europe that I can't get service for my computer?

Edit: Before I believe that it said

a. Scope of Coverage. Your coverage for defects begins on the date your Covered Equipment’s Apple hardware warranty expires and terminates at the end of
the Coverage Period (“Repair Coverage Period”). If the product is a Mac mini or is a portable product, meaning that it can operate independently without a
power cord, Apple will provide worldwide repair or replacement service, as described below. If the product is neither a Mac mini nor portable, then Apple
may restrict service to the United States and Canada. Apple will provide both parts and labor, but may require you to replace certain readily installable parts
yourself, as described below. Apple may provide replacement product or parts that are manufactured from new, refurbished, or serviceable used parts. The
replacement product or parts will be functionally equivalent to the replaced products or parts and will assume the remaining coverage under the Plan. The
products or parts that are replaced become Apple’s property. Apple strongly advises you to record as a back up, data and software residing or recorded in
the Covered Equipment, before having the Covered Equipment available for repair or replacement services. The scope of support provided to you will vary
according to the Plan you purchased, as follows:

You are covered world wide. Well I know I am. I live in Ireland, bought my Mac and Applecare here too. When I was in the states I could get my laptop repaired no problems. :)

Yip, it is covered world wide (wherever Apple has a presence). That phrase refers to where the product (applecare) is available for sale.

One thing to note: Applecare international coverage and normal warranty international coverage only applies to mobile products - iPod, Macbook, Macbook Pro. Screens, iMacs, Mac Pros and Mac Minis are not covered. A special case is the iPhone - although it's mobile, it's not covered internationally (for obvious reasons).

I've taken Macbooks, Macbook Pros and ipods in for repairs in South Africa (all bought in America) and haven't had any problems.
