Hi I have found 2 Imac Applecare part numbers

MA520LL/A

M8851LL/B

Which one is current and valid. What is the difference between the 2 ?

I hear stories about Apple requiring proof of Applecare purchase to honor, is this true, Im about to buy one on my local craigslist.

If you punch the numbers into Google, M8851LL/B is the Current AppleCare for iMac/eMac and MA520LL/A is the last generation AppleCare box, but both should be valid.

you should just need the activation number... it would be too much hassle for apple to ask you to send in a receipt
