Hey guys,

I purchased my Apple iphone pro max 14 in Thailand, where I travel to often.

I travel often and spend time in multiple countries.

My Apple store is set on the U.S. store so I am offered Applecare plus + Theft and Loss.

Question is if I subscribe to Applecare plus + theft and loss, and i lose it abroad (i.e. in Thailand, Singapore, any other country), will I be able to claim the theft and loss benefit?

I'm getting mixed answers from Apple support, and Apple Thailand isn't sure too.

I don’t think it’ll cover loss in a foreign country.
But I think it will cover repairs but from what I read it has to be repaired and not exchanged. Apparently Apple has to order the specific parts for your country region to repair device. Unsure to be honest 100%

I think AppleCare is specific to the country in which you live. I live outside the USA in a US territory and I am not even able to purchase AppleCare because my residence and billing addresses are outside the USA and there is no AppleCare plan specific to my territory.

Might also be state specific when talking US. AIG web page has T&Cs on a state-by-state basis.

Select the state based on where the device was purchased:

  • Apple or Best Buy store - state of store
  • Online - state associated with the billing address tied to the method of payment used to purchase coverage
  • Online purchase picked up at Best Buy store - state of store

(also seem to recall seeing a separate exception for California and or New York)

If it helps I purchase AppleCare through my UK account but any repairs or replacements I have had done over the last 6 years have been done in Dubai UAE with no issues. I recently dropped my iPad Pro and damaged the screen and the whole device was changed with no issues.
