Hi,

I bought a used iPhone 3GS with 2 months left on the factory 1yr warranty. I plan to keep this phone for a long time so I was wondering whether buying AppleCare would be a good investment. Questions:

1. Does it cover battery replacement?

2. Do you guys have any AppleCare experiences, bad/good?

3. Bottom line: Is it worth the $80 asking price?

4. In case of anything SUPER bad happening to the iPhone, will they replace it and how, considering the 16GB 3GS is now discontinued?

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1. Does it cover battery replacement?

No, not after this time.

2. Do you guys have any AppleCare experiences, bad/good?

I had to replace my iPhone because after about 2 months the battery drain was more then 20% during the night even in flight mode.
The replacement was just perfect: UPS brought me the replacement phone and took mine apart. So no additional worrys.

3. Bottom line: Is it worth the $80 asking price?

Hm, look at ebay, i just paid about $45,-

4. In case of anything SUPER bad happening to the iPhone, will they replace it and how, considering the 16GB 3GS is now discontinued?

No idea, but I would have no worries about it.
