I bought my iMac (20-inch) back in 2008 with the 3 year Applecare protection plan. Apple has since then discontinued the same model. My screen cracked and I need it fixed. But if they discontinued it, what will they do? Will they repair it for me? or will they give me a new one, or what...???

They have replacement parts for it. You won't get a new one.

But wait, a cracked screen isn't something they will likely repair anyway, since an iMac screen doesn't just "crack."

^^^ Yeah, are you sure it is covered?

If it is covered, they will repair it.

Speaking from the point of an Apple Service provider. Being as old as it is, Apple typically considers any sort of crack/scratch user damage and will not cover it.

AppleCare doesn't cover damage from accidents. You'll have to pay to have the screen repaired.
