Not sure if this is the right area to post this. Please move if it isn't.

I bought an iPad Pro that still has over a year of AppleCare left on it, purchased by the previous owner.

I bought it from another person locally. They do not have the receipt.

If something happens with this iPad before the AppleCare runs out, will I be able to use the AppleCare? In the past, I have only needed a serial number, however I have recently been told conflicting things from Apple and others. Apple has told me that the AppleCare stays with the device and transferring the name is not necessary when selling.

Just want to confirm. Thanks!

Someone can confirm, but from what I remember, once it is registered, the owner doesn't matter.

Yep can confirm, Apple care is tied to the device so you’ll be fine.
