Applecare scratched up my macbook.

Applecare scratched up my macbook. I sent my macbook to get the plastic bezel replaced and it came back two weeks later with swirls all over the top case. I am really mad, I take such good care of my macbook treating it like the piece of art that it is.

My question is does anyone have any recommendation of a cream or something or anything I can do to help buff out the scratches out. I filed a complaint with applecare, and they told my I could send it to them so they could look at it,but I just got the darn thing back and I dont want to part with it again at least not for a week or so.

I think that I would just send your MacBook back in for repair/replacement of the case. Not sure of any "miracle" cream that will make you laptop look like new again.

This post makes me nervous...I *just* (not but 2 minutes ago) got off the phone with AppleCare and they're sending me a box to ship out my white MB. I have discoloration of the plastic bezel around the screen that showed up just about a week ago. Luckily (or unluckily) my serial# is 4H621, so they said that they'd fix it.

But now I'm really worried about them scratching it all to hell...I take care of this thing as if it were my child. Has anyone else had this issue with AppleCare? Has anyone called them back to complain and get a replacement of the scratched case?

Take pictures of the macbook before you ship it. This way you can prove that the macbook wasn;t damaged when you shipped it.

When I had my old powerbook in for service, they put a nice scratch in the LCD, dead center. I called them up the day I got it back and defionetly chewed them out about it. They sent me the box, I sent it, and they repaired it. But it took FOREVER. Just be firm yet polite when you call them and do not hang up until they offer you a repair.

Same thing happened to me when I sent in my iBook G4, swirl marks and all. I called up AppleCare and the guy helping me out was appalled at what happened and since I had so many other problems previously, they replaced it.

AppleCare just gouged the bezel between the keyboard and display on my MBP AND they forgot to give me back my 1gig ran upgrade I had installed before I had to send it in for repairs (something just broke off inside and was floating around.. though they never said what it was).

I took it back and they found the ram and gave it back and they said they'd have to replace the top casing to fix the gouge and I said "Ok. sounds good". They guy was kind of being a prick about it and didn't even apologize for messing things up and forgetting to give my ram back!!!

I'll be taking it back in next week for the top case replacement.

I'm going to use that Brasso stuff too on my 4G iPod. He whiped it with cotton rounds? Where do i get a "cotton round"... would a soft t-shirt do the same?

I can Vouch for the brasso method. My NANO was all knocked up, so with a friends bottle of brasso and a nice cotton pad i made the screen all nice and purty again.

you could get cotton rounds from any CVS, Eckerd, Sav-on, etc (ie: your local drug store). I would think a soft cotton t-shirt would do the same, but I'm not sure. Then again, for the screen and such, he used a microfiber cloth, because he was afraid the cotton rounds would be too rough..

I hear many posts which compalins the scratches and other cosmetic blemishes after MBP/MB comes back from the warranty repair.

If my Mac has to go for warranty repairs and comes back with cosmetic damages, I would surely demand the complete repair (my definition of repairs is to repair the broken parts and keep the rest intact) including the casing and screen.

Does Apple dispute those cosmetic damages when you report them (like, the scratches were not done by Apple)? Can I ask Apple Store to confirm there is no cosmetic damages before I send in for repairs (ie. I bring in the unit to the store and show them there is no scratch nor dent).
