If I've just purchase a brand new 2010 CTO Mac Mini from an individual on eBay. I've enter the serial number into Apple's website to check on the warranty coverage and surprisingly it shows the unit has AppleCare coverage for another 2+ years.

Can I automatically take advantage of the AppleCare service in the future? Or do I need to call Apple to transfer the AppleCare ownership to my name? I've read that in order to transfer AppleCare coverage, I'll need a sale receipt and AppleCare agreement number which I think it'll be difficult to inquire from my seller because he/she may not be the original person who signed up for the AppleCare.

Just in case anyone wonders--

AppleCare coverage goes with the unit that was originally registered no matter who the owner is....
