I'm really close to purchasing a MBP and was looking into AppleCare+ to go along with it. It's been a while since I purchased it and see that there are 2 different choices.

The problem is, both have the same description. It doesn't show how long the $224 one is for and if I'm able to switch to a yearly plan after that term is up.

Not sure but when I got AppleCare+ for my iMac it was three years. I would call to make sure. I like doing the pay ahead thing because for some reason if your payment doesn’t go through on the monthly AppleCare+ it gets dropped and I don’t think you can start it up again. Someone can correct me if that’s wrong.

Yes I was told that you can migrate any time to the yearly Apple Care+ I’m just going to go straight to the Yearly plan when my new 16” comes. I have utilized the crap out of apple care and it‘s paid for itself and then some. I don’t know how or why I seem to really push my systems but I guess I do.

You can purchase outright and you get 3 years of service or pay the $150 a year.

David, are you looking at an international Apple store? The U.S. one clearly shows it's for *three* years. You choose either monthly or a lump sump for 3 years. Here's a link:

The Apple Edcuation Store shows the same, mink using your $249 price.

The choice shows up after you put the MacBook Pro into your shopping bag… if that helps.

I was signed in under EPP purchasing earlier. Your link still didn’t show me any time frame. It seems, by pricing, it’ll be 3 years but it doesn’t say if I can switch to annual after like I did with iPhone.

I took screen shots earlier but scrapped them. They were the exact same text but it had some personal stuff in the background.

This is what I get under both descriptions…

This from the Apple Care + contract for USA that I received on 1/12/21.

"For Fixed-Term Plans, your Plan Term is fixed as set forth on your Plan Confirmation. Apple is not obligated to renew your Fixed-Term Plan. If Apple does offer to renew, Apple will determine the price and terms."

Seems to be Apples choice, not the customer's.

Ahh, Thanks! It seems I'm better off buying the yearly option. I wonder if they would want an annual inspection or something to renew? Or maybe if I submit a lot of claims they'll choose not to?
