Some of you may of read in another thread that my cousin had a curious problem where all his accounts and passwords had been changed and I couldn't figure out why. Well we have figured out what the problem was (ex girlfriend) :rolleyes: and while I have created new accounts for him and rescued what I could his new AppleID is causing problems because any apps he bought on his old ID wont sync to his iPhone.

What can I do? Apparently his old AppleID has been totally erased.

I would try contacting Apple and lay out what happened. There might be a way for them to transfer purchases from the old account to the new account, or maybe just add them to the new account.

Thanks Sushi.

I've spoken to support via Chat Now button on Apple.com and they said to contact AppleCare but it will cost £35 a pop so thought I'd post here first for any ideas.

I had a problem with my account a little while ago. I just called the customer service number I found from iTunes and they were able to help me no problem. But they said that they have no way to transfer purchases between accounts. Based on this conversation I don't think they can move anything, but I bet they can get your password back. They can also change the account name, which I would recommend.

£35 a pop to contact AppleCare is a bit expensive.

Maybe a polite e-mail to sjobs@apple.com might be a better way to go.

Does your cousin have any listing, e-mails or whatever showing his purchases?

E-mailing the CEO of Apple about a dispute with someone's girlfriend? Seems a bit extreme, don't you think?

That e-mail does not go directly to SJ. Rather it goes to his staff who can handle the e-mail to this account and help with unusual situations.

If he cannot get a resolution going through the normal channels, sometimes it's worth going that route when your situation does not fit the norms for support.

To answer your question. Would I e-mail SJ directly on an issue such as this. No I would not.

Wait a sec, the ex-girlfriend is a hacker??? :eek::confused:

Lol. I thought the exact same thing. And was shocked that the speculation of this turned out to be true. That's why I go for the hot chics that don't know too much about computers. This way, i'm pretty safe. Ha. Ha. :D

As someone who works with online accounts, I can tell you that "my friend/girlfriend/ex-wife/little brother/3-year-old stole/hacked/erased/sold my account" is not an unusual occurrence, but rather a daily fact of life. People should be careful with their logins.

Edit: awman, suckered into replying to a six month old thread. Oh well, the advice still stands.

I'd like to know how this was resolved to. My first thought is, if it happened to me, I'd call the bank and police -- they've got access to my credit card.
