Hey all,

My "traditional" Apple ID is one e-mail address. But when I signed up for MobileMe, I had to generate a new ID (the same root name, but @me.com instead of @mailserver.com).

When I upgraded to iOS5, and the iCloud on my iPhone it used my @mailserver.com AppleID instead of my @me.com ID.

When I just moved my MobileMe account, it sync'd my @me.com account.

Any way to rectify this?

You probably want to go with the "Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases"-option, if I understand you correctly. Or you may find another answer on the link, that you were looking for.

just use the apple ID you been using to make purchases with. one thing to take into consideration is once you use a different mail client as an apple ID, iCloud mail is gonna ask you to make a free account for push mail.

Thanks for the link.

I guess I can manage iCloud with my MobileMe account, and leave purchases to my @domain.com account like I have been.

I just want to make sure it's set up correctly.

Now I need to figure out how to change my iCloud login on my iPhone so I can change it to my @me.com address.

I'd actually really like to convert everything to a single account (the @me.com account).

I'd like to eliminate my @domain all together and just set up aliases. That way I could utilize Push instead of relying on iMap and 15 minute fetching.

What do I do with my old MobileMe account? Just let it die off?

Ultimately, I just want to have a single ID (the @me.com) ID.

the problem i think is gonna be when you try to back up your media into the @me account is going to tell you that your library is backed up to another apple ID. you see your purchases are linked to your apple ID making it impossible to merge your media to a different apple ID. i myself have two ID's, my @gmail and my @me, but i use my @gmail because i had made all my purchases over the course of the years with that ID.

Then give everyone your @me account email, and leave the other one to the apple shop, i'm sure you won't miss 15 minute updates from apple site?

Since iCloud is set up on my computer as my @me.com account, how do I change that on the iPhone to reflect that?

I want to take my iCloud account, make a few aliases (I use different e-mails for different reasons), then forward my @domain email to those aliases (and thus reply from those aliases).

I don't mind leaving my purchases account separate (@domain), since they will just forward to my alias in iCloud/MobileMe.

Ideas?

On iPhone, go to Settings and iCloud, then the big fat red "delete" button at the bottom of that page. Afterwards, login with the iCloud account you want to use. Also on iPhone, in Settings, there's an option called "Store", under which you can set another AppleID for purchases. So you can have two AppleID's on the iPhone.
