Welcome to the downloaders guide to AppleKeynotes.com.

AppleKeynotes.com was started about a week ago, by me, drumpat01, and little king, on MacRumors.

It is now the internet's biggest source of Apple Keynotes, available to everyone, at fast download speeds.

To get downloading, follow these easy steps :):

1. Head on over to http://AppleKeynotes.com.

2. Hmmm. What do I want to download today? :) Either search, using the search bar on the right hand side of the page, or browse by events, using the top tabs on the page. Alternatively, you can look at the latest posts added - the article on the page at that moment.

3. Locate the Keynote you want to download, and have a look at the full post. Read all the comments, and the full description, so you understand what the file is like you are downloading, and whether there are any problems with it. Understand that the file you are downloading is often copyright of Apple. In most cases, a member of the AppleKeynotes.com team will have mentioned in the original post if there are any issues, but sometimes, something slips under us.

4. Click on the link, which will underline as you move your cursor over it, at the bottom of the post about the Keynote. A .zip file should begin downloading, hopefully at fast speeds.

5. Uncompress the .zip file. Some users have reported there being problems with Stuffit, and I personally recommend OS X's inbuild unpacker, which is fast and stable.

6. Watch and enjoy the Keynote.

7. Leave a comment here, and on the event post at AppleKeynotes.com. We like user feedback, and we like to see people have enjoyed what we have done. Like all humans, we also like praise. :)

8. If you have a Keynote we don't have, add it to our library! Read AppleKeynotes.com - The Contributors Guide for more details.

Let me know in this thread if you have any problems, and/or suggestions.

Thanks a lot, and enjoy the site!

Love the site, keep it up! If you don't mind me asking, are you guys making/losing money with this site? I would have thought you would have used bittorrent and the dl times seem pretty quick? Nevertheless, I am grateful.

Losing.

But we are considering putting some ads up, to pay hosting (which is done for free for us, by Larry (amacgenius here), very kindly). Its just sort of a fun thing. :)

They (Jack and the crew) arn't personally losing anything, it's paid for at my own cost, which is why I think we're going to setup an option to donate (not forcefully, voluntarily) and see if we can get anything from that to help out with hosting costs. :)

Edit: Jack beat me to it.

We'll get it onto Digg.com, once we get a PayPal donate, and maybe some ads. :) Thanks for the good feedback.

Well..we've got 1TB of bandwidth to burn, and it's $1/gb we go over, so let's hope that it doesn't go down. ;)

Real Player?

Come on, give us a break. :) Its only one file currently (I believe), and that is the only copy we can find. Better than nothing, right?

we can post it on macrumors and macbytes.... but 1TB of bandwidth per month doesn't seem like enough. :)

Can you hold off for a bit, I'd like to check with the other people who are involved with the site. I'm pretty sure its a deffo yes. What exactly does that mean? Where will it be posted?

And were you serious about 1tb? I'm not sure where we can find more... :p

Thanks a lot arn, thats great news.

I can link it off a Macbytes link and off a MacRumors story... but depending on how many people download the files, it just can take up a large amount of bandwidth. Thought about seeding them as Bittorrent files?

ya we toyed around with the idea of seeding them as bt files for a while, but that requires people to seed and well, personally, i really dont want to leave my computer on forever as a server. I just know we'd have like 4 seeders and it would be crappy speeds. I think this is the best way right now. Lets just see how far we can push it and if need be, we can start to seed the less watched ones.

Yeah. I considered getting them as torrent files, but thought it would be a lot of seeding to do. Maybe we can get organized, and have 5ish people seeding. If it goes up on MacRumors, then we can expect a lot of traffic.

I have a couple of ideas I've been thinking over. Can we definitely take you up on your offer, but not for a few days at least. I'm going to try and get a combination of torrent files and hosted material sorted out.. we'll see what we can do. I'll get in touch with you when AppleKeynotes.com is ready - and once again, thanks for your offer of help getting the word out. :)

Ok, that is a lot of bandwidth. I take it you have a dedicated host? Or your own servers? I think we will have to get some torrents set up..

It appears Dreamhost is throttling your bandwidth at the mo'.

I can't get onto the site.

I even downloaded Real Player, which is saying something, because I despise Rob "Krispy Kreme" Glaser.
