I tried to login to the developer forums and got an error:

Then I got another developer to see if he could get in and he got the same message.

System status page is green for the developer forums though.

Developers Forums changed?

They changed all the forums quite a bit. Your route gave me an error too for https://devforums.apple.com/error.jspa. It seems there is another link now: https://discussions.apple.com/community/developer_forums but that one seems 'open' to all viewers. Confusing indeed...

Well that really doesn't seem right. There is a whole lot of info in the developer forums which shouldn't be made public.

Also, it is not the whole developer site that is down. Just the forums.

The iOS dev center and mac dev center are up.

No. It would not be good to have it publicly available.

Developers would feel much more restricted as to what they can discuss.

This would severely diminish the quality of such discussions.
