Hi.

I often use Apple's Feedback website found here: http://www.apple.com/feedback

Always I am astounded by its non-existent optimization for iOS and its missing entries for some products, like iOS itself (yes, I can complain about the iOS apps, but not the OS itself, like I can do with OS X easily and have already done so once or twice in the past).

Since the traffic in this sub-forum is rather light, I do not expect much answers to my simple question:

Could Apple overhaul its Feedback system for its products to get more in line with its products?

Ah, those formatting buttons do work.

Just went there looking for a way to provide feedback RE the new Photos app, but there's only an iPhoto button. Given all the people who have strong negative reactions to this new/unimproved app (including me!) Apple needs to get current with their own products.

They could simply just automate the entire process.

When a new product gets updates/released (software or hardware) it would trigger scripts which updates all of the required form(s) or add new product to feedback page.

Its perfectly do-able, and would finally put an end to the manual work they do... U know this because feedback forms often lag behind versions of said products.

Question is, do they want to automate this ? If its too much work for them, (who doesn't like a bit of hard yacka ....) then they could use that as an excuse not to do it.

A potentially more interesting question would be whether any feedback would really play much or even any role whether or not they've updated their feedback system/site.

The thick of it
I tend to give them repetitive feedback about incomprehensible mistakes or omissions they make that go uncorrected for long stretches. For instance, my latest peeve is that in FCPX you can no longer import from your photo collection, be it stills or videos. There's a link in FCPX for importing from Photos, but it just says, "Open Photos to import your photos." But even doing that, it's impossible to drag anything from Photos into FCPX. You first have to drag the media to the desktop (!?) and from there drag it into FCPX. That's inexcusable, especially when iPhoto used to work flawlessly. Plus, Photos has been out over a year!

So does Apple's feedback page do any good? I'm not sure. There are issues I've sent in that have gotten resolved quickly through an update. But I'm not sure if my feedback had anything to do with it. Then there are issues like Photos that never seem to get resolved. I too have noticed the absence of several categories from their Feedback list. Often my feedback doesn't fit their choices, and they don't give you an "Other" category. I used to beta-test OS X and iOS versions, and I found that feedback mechanism was a bit more responsive.

I wonder how many feedback submissions Apple gets on a daily basis? Even if they're overwhelmed, Apple should have the resources to make it all work.

Apple listens to feedback submitted, however like any other company, priorities are based on how important the feature/enhancement/bug is.

a security issue is always a top priority for example, over an enhancement. So, is why these are always fixed fairly quickly or within a reasonable time frame..

Other feedback, not so important.... ... u could be waiting a while.

Readers, please note that http://www.apple.com/feedback/ is not the route to take for security issues.

Instead: Apple Product Security.

Re https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...just-works-apple.1814369/page-3#post-22246120 I await a CVE identifier for a vulnerability that was reported, appropriately, in February 2012.
