They’re not even doing product red anymore.

A little exaggerated, saying lack of covers puts me off buying a new iPad, there are other reasons why I’m not upgrading this time ... no headphone jack, only Face ID, the bend thing.

But the cover is part of the aesthetic experience of the iPad.

Every time I looked at the gray cover on my 12.9, I frowned, every time I look at the purple cover on my rose gold 10.5 I have a good feeling. If I had to look at that pink sand I would scream. Haha

How about some pictures from people who have decorated the covers with stickers or paint? I feel inspired to try that on my old gray cover.

Selling covers in 300 different colors for the trillions of iPad models around (regular, mini, 3 sizes of Pro) must be a supply chain nightmare.

Also, I think those colorful Smart Covers never sold well. Go to your local Best Buy and you can probably get a green or yellow one for $10.

Hell, I just got a white one for my 12.9 iPad Pro (old model) and it was dirt cheap. And white is a neutral-ish color.

i wonder why Apple has stopped making covers in vibrant colours?

I hate the dreary charcoal, boring white and that anaemic pink sand!

Why did they think people who bought 12.9 iPad Pro would only want charcoal or white (unless they bought leather). Is that what Pro means ... a colourless world?

It seriously puts me off buying a new iPad. And they’ve run down production of smart covers for last gen iPads to almost nothing.

So I’m sticking with my beautiful purple cover on 10.5, and the just acquired midnight blue leather for 12.9.

And if this continues ... charcoal, white, pink sand .... I will be looking at third party offerings.

But why are Apple doing this?
Quityourbitching. The first thing pretty much anybody does after buying an iPhone or iPad is buy some sort of protective case or cover for it, which can be just about any color or combo of colors under the sun. The market for such covers and cases is ridiculously huge and varied. After which the color of the device in question never gets seen again.

Why do people like you bother to reply to a thread you’re not interested in. I have a different view to you so I’m “bitching”, whereas I see it as stating an opinion. Different to yours, shock, horror, you can’t cope. Just go away then.

Different opinion such as, colours of covers and cases don’t matter to you, they do matter to me. Goodbye.

To be honest about it those covers are not the greatest cases to halt damage to the iPad.
