This isn't even the first time I've seen this, but my new mini showed up with a nice chip in the corner. This happened because the packaging is so thin around the edge of the mini itself, that any firm nudge during shipping and... well... your mini gets damaged. It was clear from the outer box that this was likely, and... yep. Apple themselves ship these usually with a cardboard shell around them, but other retailers don't, and I learned this the hard way.

Anyway, was able to exchange the mini in-store for a new one, but a bit of a pain let me tell you..

Got my new i5 up and running and it's tons faster than the 2014 i5 mid-range it replaces. Just waiting for my additional Crucial RAM to show up on Monday and I'll be golden.

My Mac mini ordered from Adorama showed up with the box (Apple mini product box) dented and the shipping box really beat up. Fortunately, the mini itself had no damage.

I used my Macintosh box (1984) as a laundry hamper for 20 years before updating to the new, lighter, plastic technology. Duct tape was used to reinforce the bottom tape, but

Other than audio glitches, I haven't had any problems with my mini in the 30+ days I've had it. And should some develop, there's Applecare.
My sub point is that so many "issues" could be prevented by proper packaging. When I sell something on eBay, you could drop kick it across the country with no damage at all :) And guess what? I have never had any issues with anything I have ever shipped.

I had the same problem, when it was taken from the package (the i3 model). But doesn't bother me, because I am using the computer not looking at it...

Please. The packaging is fine, give me as little as possible to minimize my carbon footprint. If you're shipping it, put it in a larger box with adequate buffer zones. Your complaint is with the retailer, not with Apple.
