It's really exciting to see what's going on at Apple right now. They are the only company that's is cranking out great software and hardware, thus they are the only company with the opportunity to do some awesome things in the future!
Apple has always made software but not at the rate they are now. They are totally cutting off their reliance on other developers to create software for them. And they're doing one hell of a job of it to boot. Will Apple also become known as a great software company ('instead of the little company that makes sexy machines for that creative niche'), possibly challenging the likes of Microsoft (with unbloated software that actually works properly). Perhaps that is the REAL strategy behind the Marklar project.
