That thing is both impressive and beautiful. I wonder what the resolution of the display is? (given that it's likely a tablet screen)

I miss when Apples designs impressed me like this tribute does. How times have changed.

The protruding tongue, by the way, is an SD card - a welcome upgrade to the original Mac’s single 3.5 inch hard-jacketed floppy disk drive, which sported a full 400 kilobytes of storage!

From CURVED Labs website, they state the slot also contains speakers, microphone, camera & SD slot:

30 years ago Steve Jobs wanted to make computers more user-friendly, so he gave the original Macintosh a face. In the new Macintosh much of the original elements are resumed. However, at the spot located under the screen, where the drive for 3.5-inch disk sat, you will now find a slot for SD cards, the FaceTime camera, speakers and a microphone.

The Mac supports all popular WiFi standards and Bluetooth. You find already the new USB 3.0 port and a Lightning port. A built-in battery allows you to set up the Mac at different work locations on the fly. Like the current iPhones and iPads the Mac would be available in silver, gray and gold - including color-matched keyboards and mice.

Their site has the english translation at the bottom. Lots of beautiful photos from all angles. I think they created a really gorgeous redesign.

Apparently the guts are from an 11" MBA. So yes, an actual Mac, not a Hackintosh.

Speaking as someone who loves classic Macs, I wouldn't get one for reasons of practicality and price.

I still like it quite a bit, but I'd love it if the screen / body were the same size (width and height) as the original - although with a "retina level" DPI.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this just a rendering? Although he doesn't acknowledge it on his website, it seems to have all the hallmarks of a Martin Hajek render (although it could equally be by some other designer using a similar style).

The CurvedLabs webpage, although saying things like they 'packed cameras and speakers in there', all uses very hypothetical language - 'the Mac would be available in silver, gray and gold'.

I could be wrong, but none of the photos look very real either. All CAD renders.

I found a website that claimed it was a one-off build that used macbook air components. But going straight to the designers site - I'm having doubts.

Being a render would go a long way in explaining why every photo seemed to have bad focus. Too bad, as using MBA parts could easily fit into that housing, making this a possibility.

Wow, that is gorgeous! Since Apple seems determined to make the MacMini non-upgradeable, how about they base the next design off this, only be sure to include the ability to attach a nice big external monitor. Teeny tiny home computer (great for kids) as a stand-alone, or use the built-in monitor as a second screen when connected to an external display.

But, like I said above, I'm 99% sure it's just a render. It looks like it would tip over at the slightest touch if this was real.

Also, well... The photos don't look like photos. They look like renderings.
