And Apple has decided to double down on this nonsense. Here’s an idea, Cook gets rid of Cue (and Iovine) and let’s the two new Sony hires run Apple’s content strategy.

I think your 'Idea' is not well thought out. You honestly think Cook will fire Cue? That's completely nonsensical move and won't happen over Planet of the Apps, even if it is a fail on many levels. Cue might be under appreciated, but Planet of the Apps isn't the demise of his career, even if you don't like him.

No I think there are other reasons he needs to go. Doubling down on content is not a good idea if Cue has the final say.
