alberta, canadia!
What is it?? will it void any warranty ect??

The reason I'm asking is because I recieved my macbook yesterday and when i went to put in a new stick of ram i noticed that there is white stuff all over the contacts on the apple ram, I'm wondering if this is a warranty issue i can address with them, or if they will tell me I'm S.O.L. because i took the ram out...

It tells you how to do it in the manual, including taking out the existing RAM. It won't void anything unless you have jam over your fingers or leave mustard stains inside or something

No, upgrading your RAM and HD is perfectly within warranty on the MacBook, that's why both are user accessible parts.

ok knowing that, do I have a warranty issue here? its seems that teh C2D is running a bit slower than the CD and I have more ram in it! could it be because of this mysterious white stuff on the ram?

There shouldn't be white stuff on your memory. Did you try cleaning it off?
