I read the material here about Apple's partnership with Globalstar re sat service for the new iPhones.
And saw the video, where they briefly outlined a flow for rescue services.
It seems they'll use a dispatch-type service, as say Garmin does for the Inreach, but I haven't been able to find details. Anyone know? I would have though if it were GEOS they would have announced that.
For those not familiar, the sat messenging systems like SPOT, Inreach, Zoleo use a service to coordinate a rescue; basically they contact the helicopter and/or SAR in that video. Garmin bought GEOS, who provides such a service. SPOT uses I think Global Overwatch (scary name, no?). So I'm wondering what Apple uses. Or if it's a bunch of interns at the Apple Saucer in the basement.
