I was talking to an Apple salesperson:
"Hi, I'm looking to buy an MBP, but I have one concern."
"Okay."
"I've been hearing that the MBPs are having a lot of yellow screen problems, and --"
"I've never heard of that."
"You haven't?"
"Nope."
"You should try going on Google and searching for 'MBP yellow screens'."
"Huh."
"Okay, so hypothetically, if I got a bad MBP, what would be my recourse?"
"I don't think you should buy it."
"You don't think I should buy a Macbook Pro?"
"Nope."
"Huh. Okay. I won't. Thanks, bye."

Apple might have one of the best PR teams around, but damn they suck at selling products. :p

I'm probably still going to buy an MBP, but I'm going to do it with someone

Does this sum up their response?

I was at the apple store last night talking to an apple rep and got the same answer.. I have a little darker kinda area on my screen on the right side.. If I use the puter long enough it will pretty much go away so I have been on the fence about what to do about it.. It has been this way since I got it.. So I took it to the apple store. The person I talked said that I could try and exchange it. I said I was concernded about the yellowing issue and getting one that would be worse.. The apple person was like Yellowing??? We dont have any issues with the MacBook / MBP screens at all, they have been great for a while now.. :)

I sold Macs for a few years, at a reseller (we sold PC's too).

Anyways, we aren't always aware of every issue. Usually we only find out if a customer of ours has brought on in with the issue. I know myself, I didn't always browse forums so I wouldn't know. So it's not that they are in "denial", it's just that probably they haven't come acrossed it.

If you think about how many MBP's are sold, and how many actually have the issue, it's not that many.
