Apple's Website is Missleading and Not Kept Up to date!!

If you go on Apple's Web site look under mac, and then iMac. you get the Computer Spec's for the iMac.

You will see that they are saying that the iMac comes with and i Quote "New processor architecture."

Well this is not true at all today!! They Never Update there website.

For most of us we know that the CPU that they are still selling to this point is the Older i3,i5, and i7 CPU's and not the New architecture.

For some people who don't follow what tech is really out there my think that they are getting the NEW Sandy Bridge CPU's From the way they say that.

I know that my dad who does not follow tech at all and he even knows that intel has put out a new cpu just from articles in the paper about it.

Someone like him could be buying off apple's web site thinking they are getting something that they are not getting just from the way that apple is still advertising on there site there own products!!!
 
Are they supposed to put up that they have the old processors in them? Their idea is to sell as many as possible until they refresh them.

No just remove that one line of text saying that they have New processor architecture. You still say what the CPU Does!! Not that hard to do.
 
The main forum truncated the title of this thread to "apples website is...."
I clicked hoping ti said apples site is down for maintenance :eek:

New does not mean latest. Latest would be misleading, I'd say new is more subjective. The iMacs were updated 9 months ago and have iX processors. I see no problem here.

Saying the Mini or MB have new processor architectures would be too far, in my opinion.

I wholehearted agree with you.

Apple is all about customers service and claiming that the iMac comes with new updated processor is simply false advertising !!

I think if anyone is in the market for a new iMac and knows they want a Sandy Bridge processor they're going to know the current ones don't have them. On the other hand someone that's just wanting an iMac probably doesn't even know what that means.

In other words if you know what you want you know you ain't got it.
 
The processor is new, compared to the last architecture. :)

Think about it. Everyone who knows the 'reality' of it won't bother reading the marketing materials anyway. Those who doesn't know the difference between processor architectures most likely would just be happy it's newer than what is in their old one.

This made reading the thread worthwhile!

BTW apple is bending the truth just a bit. As far as I know no one sells an all-in one computer with sandy bridge. So apple has a new "CPU design" when compared to all-in-ones but not when compared to MacBook Pros.
