i'm very new to programming, and i've been trying to write an applescript to switch the computer to "better performance" when it is charging with the adapter, and then to switch back to "better energy savings" when it is not charging. is this even possible? can anyone help?

thanks

Actually, you can do that on OSX's Energy Saver preferences if i'm not mistaken.

i can't find taht option if it's even there

Inside Energy Saver Preferences and in the first dropdown box (Settings for) you can select either Power Adapter or Battery and its corresponding mode.

If you want to put your mac at full speed while connected to your charger, simply select Power Adapter and then, in the second dropdown box (Optimization), select Better Performance.
Similarly, for better energy saving, just select Battery and then Better Battery Life.

Simple, hum?
Please note you might need the administrator's password though
