Hi,

I have a first gen AppleTV, running the most recent software (3.0 I think), I have set up my MacBook to stream my own movies and TV shows to the Apple TV (only a 40GB drive).

On the main menus, there is a "My xxxxxxx" submenu option, My Movies, My TV Shows etc, however having looked at the video reviews of the new second gen AppleTV, it would appear the only way you can browse content from your own machine is by going Computer > User's Library menu.

Is this correct? Is the only way to browse my own media library through the "OS X" Front Row style interface on AppleTV 2nd gen, or once your machine has been connected to allow streaming, do the "My xxxxxx" submenu's appear?

I much prefer the My content submenus, rather than the OS X Front Row style browsing.

Cheers,

Randall

The “My …” menus are gone. Local content (from your PC/Mac) is now as you described under Computers -> Your computer’s name.

Cheers jaw04005 for clearing that up, and so quickly.

In that case I'll stick with the older AppleTV, and consider doing a drive upgrade so I can sync over a bit more content.
