ARgh! I've just had the same movie crash on me after about 3 mins of playback on me for the forth time. A 720p encode of a blu-ray, using the ATV 2 preset on Handbrake. Has played back fine on previous ATV OS versions, now suddenly booting me back to the top menu after about 3 mins.

Looks like I'll have to figure out how to downgrade back to 4.2.1.

I am facing the same thing!! Everything looks fine except the files that i used Handbrake to convert to m4v format!

Similar issue here. TV Shows bought from iTunes play fine, but no itunes converts (get iplayer automator) are audio only.

For what it's worth, I can't reproduce the problem. I tried playing a handful of movies, both old encodes created with previous versions of Handbrake as well as encodes created specifically with the ATV2 preset in the latest version. I had no issues with any of them*.

A.

* I do have some old .mov files for which the ATV won't play the AAC audio track, but the AC3 track plays fine. This problem existed before 4.3.

That's strange. I was having an issue playing purchased content last night. All the handbrake stuff was fine...

i dont think its the new OS thats the issue. I use handbrake for everything that I stream to ATV2 and haven't had any issues.

Yeah I've updated two of my 4 ATV 2's and they are all playing variously encoded files from Handbrake. That being said I was using the atv2 preset, but I pretty much settled on using Universal, it gives much more compatibility with other devices.

I notice that the original poster was streaming 720p content. Are those of you who are not having problems exclusively streaming dvd rips or hi def rips? I'm trying to get a handle on this before updating, but all my rips are converted dvd rips, none in hi-def. I'm hoping that if it is o/s related, it doesn't apply to standard def rips.

None of my 720p rips nor my standard definition rips have any problems after 4.3. So there's no problem with Handbrake and 4.3 as far as I can tell. I wonder what settings they used to encode with and if they had originally jailbroken their devices which can often cause problems. I used the built in ATV2 preset in Handbrake and I have not jailbroken mine. My older encodes work too.

Thanks. Do you use a mac or pc? This is the only potentially distinguishing factor that has yet to be addressed that I can think of.
