AppleTV + Airport Express.....

I currently have a wireless network setup using the Airport Extreme Base Station (g variety)....

My network loses strength between my home office and my living room where i would like to put an AppleTV....

... my question lies with extending my network.......

If i add an Airport Express as an access point in my living room to boost my wireless signal and act as a bridge between my AEBS and an AppleTV, will everthing work?

To clarify, the AppleTV would be wired to the Airport Express which would wirelessly connect to the AEBS, will this work?

I have heard that the AppleTV does not work using Airport Express???

This should work. I think people are not claiming that it does not work with Airport Express, it just does not have the AirTunes feature of an Airport Express. This allows you to see your AE as a remote speaker through iTunes.

BTW, you might want to place your AE before the signal has lost its strength too much, as it will not be able to extend the network if it is having difficulty connecting to the main base station. Besides, not every base station allows the network to be extended. You might need to fiddle with yours unless you already have an Apple base station.

I used to have an AE to extend my network then i moved flat and did not need it so sold it on, now i have moved again and need it again, i have set these kinda networks up before so the network setup should not be too much of a problem.

It was really the AE and TV thing i was puzzled with.....

Airport express works perfectly with apple tv. I know this because all i have is airport express. (don't have an extreme basestation)
Cable to cable modem
cable modem to airport express
airport express wireless to ibook and apple tv
works great
(so yes an express will adequatly bridge your extreme signal to your tv.
