I right clicked on the iTunes AppleTV menu item and selected "Turn off Syncing". The menu item disappeared. How do I restore it so I can re-enable syncing?

THANKS!

Terry

I clicked on the menu bar down the left side of the iTunes Screen.

The one that lists:

Library
Store
Playlists

I used to have an AppleTV before I disabled syncing.

What exactly did you right click? Are you on Windows or OS X? You can't right-click menu items in OS X.

There are right-click menu items in OS X.

It's been a while since I did it, but I *think* you have to re-enable it from the :apple:TV itself. I think disabling it in iTunes disables it on the unit.

Sorry... I know there are contextual items. I didn't associate the left navigation pane in iTunes with the term "menu." You cannot right click on menu items (the ones in the menu bar, what I associate with the term menu), in OS X. You can, occasionally, in Windows.

Anyway, sounds from the other post that you have to do something on the Apple TV itself....

Ok. Gotcha! You're correct. The top menu bar doesn't have right click.
There's so much stuff in iTunes now the left side is almost the same thing as a menu.

but I would suggest to the OP that he go to the actual Apple TV and go into the settings and sync to a new computer. That should make a pairing window pop up in iTunes.Which in turn would then allow synching from iTunes.

I believe the answer to all this confusion actually lies in the fact that the appletv disappears when your itunes library is not selected as the source on the :apple:tv. This confused me mightily also.

To restore it you have to select your itunes library on your :apple:tv and run through the whole passcode routine again.

All should be nice again now, just don't be tempted to try it again or - oops! it's another trip to the living room for me! ;)
