AppleTV in Retail Stores yet?

Anyone know if these are hitting retail stores yet? Anyone call their local store and see if they have it in?

I don't know, but I am curious as well. If Apple had announced a specific launch date, then I would say the new ATV would pop up in the store on that day. But with no concrete launch date, I'm not really sure what they do.

They better not be. I ordered mine first day and my credit card hasn't been charged, much less the thing being shipped. I would hope they'd fulfill first day preorders before sending units to stores. But I'm selfish

I don't see how they could be in stores any earlier than the first shipments will arrive considering they are coming from the same facility. My guess is Wednesday at the earliest.

I may have misunderstood the OP on his question. I assumed that he was curious if there were display units in the stores yet. Obviously they are not for sale yet, but I wouldn't be completely shocked if the new ATV went on display a day or so early. The hard part about determining what constitutes "a day early" is that Apple has announced no concrete launch date.

So who knows, maybe the display units will show up on Wednesday. Although regardless of when the display units are in stores, I am guessing that Apple will plan to start selling units in store at approximately the same time as they anticipate the pre-ordered units arriving in customer's hands.

I called my local apple store here in Houston and they said they should have them in about a week. I do agree with the guy above me that said that they should get them in stores around the same day people start getting them that preordered.

In the past, for both iPods and Macs, the stores seem to get them almost simultaneously with the first pre-order recipients. I would expect, and hope, to see them Weds or Thurs of this week.

And of course, until the minute they are off the truck, employees will tell you they have no idea when to expect them.

Count me among those waiting with bated breath. I stopped by my local Apple Store late last week, hoping against hope, but no dice.

While there, I got a chance to try the new nano, and it's as I feared; the model's seriously nerfed. Thank goodness I have my 5G. But I digress...

If tv does show up this week in stores, I have the whole weekend to put it through its paces.

Is this normally the case with Best Buy as well?

I don't pay a great deal of attention to Best Buy, but I seem to notice things there a couple weeks later than the Apple Store. Same with Amazon.
