AppleTV, iTunes & Metadata

I have a question thats been bugging me for yonks - is it possible to display Director/Producer/Staring metadata of movies in iTunes and the TV?

I know it does it fine if you buy movies from the store, or watch previews, but what about movies from other sources?

I usually put the leads in the Artists field, the director in Album Artist and occasionally I will put in a description/synopsis using one of Doug's Scripts.
Lostify also works well, but that's mostly for TV Shows.
