Last night I added a few items to iTunes on my iMac and slected the AppleTV under the devices list and clicked Sync before going to bed so it would force it to show up (as I've done many, many times).

This morning it is now all messed up...

When I selected a video on ATV it gave me the "cannot play back - format not recognized" error. I've seen that a few times before so I just restarted iTunes on the iMac... didn't work.

My ATV was no longer under the devices list, but if I looked under the prefrences/appletv section it was in there with a status of syncing. AppleTV didn't show any sync progress so I fully rebooted the ATV and iMac. Nothing.

So I've tried everything I can think of and I cant get my ATV to get connected to iTunes on the iMac....

Equipment:

- iMac G5 isight - my main media server
- Macbook

Both running Leopard and latest version of iTunes
AppleTV running latest software

All connected via ethernet into the same Netgear box

Here are the troubleshooting things I've done:
=========================================
* rebooted ATV and iMac multiple times
* verified all can see the network fine
* unselected and selected the "search for AppleTVs" option on the iMac (and restarted with it in different states)
* I CAN connect to the iMac shared library from the Macbook
* I CAN stream from the iMac to the ATV via airtunes (so it IS communicating with the ATV)
* the Macbook sees the ATV and it shows up in devices list
* firewall settings on iMac set to allow all connections
* I've tried changing the IP address on the iMac and AppleTV
* I've reinstalled iTunes - current version - including manually removing mobile devices files as I've seen mentioned on the boards
* I've installed iTunes 7.5 and selected a new blank library
* I've rebooted my network hardware
* I've reset ATV to factory settings
* I've done a full restore on the ATV bring it back to v1

So any other ideas what to try?

Thanks
