This has probably been answered before so I apologize. I currently use an Apple Time Capsule as my media storage. I stream content from it through my macbook to my PS3 with the PS3 Media Server. It works great but I need something for my bed room.

So my question is, can I stream from Time Capsule to the Apple TV. I don't mind having my computer open, but from my understanding, I would have to load the movie into itunes in order to view anything. Are there any jailbreak work arounds? Thanks in advance.

You still need to have a computer with iTunes open in order to stream media. There are no work arounds as of this writing.

You say you don't mind having your computer on, so all you need to do is point your iTunes library towards the Time Capsule and it should work fine.

The biggest practical issue is that (I believe) the data would travel from your Time Capsule to your Mac and then to your Apple TV. If I'm correct in this then it is doubling the network traffic. That shouldn't be a major problem though, but would restrict the number of streams you could have going.

Thanks for the responses. So I can have my itunes account read from both my internal HD and an external?
