application appears bottom half cut off

So I took the plunge and upgraded to Catalina, despite some minor annoyances so far ok. However, one app (an older game ported to Mac which I got from the Mac app store) runs shifted down with the bottom half cut off and the top half of the screen blank. Not sure what to do or if I can change the resolution the game runs at.

Was advised elsewhere to play with display settings. When I choose a scaled option I get more of the game screen with "larger space" to the right or less of the game with "more text" to the left. Still unplayable though any other ideas?

Try to open the info window in Finder, and check "Open in low resolution". Or contact the developer.
