Just wondering if the icon for an app you bought while on sale goes back to the app's normal icon once an update is issued, or if my copy of Galcon will forever have 2/3 of it obscured by "INSANE SALE!"

Thanks :p

If the developer changes the icon image in an update, presumably they will once the sale is over, the icon will be changed. Are you talking about the icon on your iPhone or in the Applications tab in iTunes. I don't think there are banners that cover icons on your iPhone, that is unless the developer makes the banner actually part of the icon.

I am talking about the icon both on my iPhone and in my Applications tab. I am installing Galcon onto my phone now, so I'll check to see if those banners aren't there when on my phone... The banner is there for Barista, though, which is why I preemptively asked.

Thanks for the info!

Hi Daveecee,
I'm the designer for Barista. Apple asks for two separate application icons, and the one that appears on the App Store is different to the one that you'll see on your iPhone. So if you see Apps with 'Sale' etc on the App Store, unless the developer has also added that to the iPhone app icon, you won't see that text appear on your iPhone.
Cheers,
Chuck.
