Application quit unexpectedly 2006-2007 mac pro firmware flash tool

Hello all,

new poster here. I am attempting to upgrade the firmeware on a 2006 mac pro to 2.1. I downloaded the firmware tool here:

I ran the tool on OSx 10.5 and I got a pop up stating that "The application Mac Pro 2006-2007 Firmware Toll quit Unexpectedly"

Is the tool having some compatibility issues with the operating system or is there some sort of work around that I can perform?

its amazing how many people people who want to use the MP1,1-2,1 and iM4,1-5,1 tools are still using 10.5.x leopard...

as to why its crashing, thats because the App is only compatible with 10.6 Snow Leopard and up.
