I've had the new MacBook Pro 14" for a month now and while using Mac OS 12 I have had some issues with apps opening but in the background.

For example, I will have Safari open and I will go down to the dock and click on Chrome, I see it opens but its opening behind Safari and I have to click on it again to bring it to the front. This happens with other apps as well but it doesn't always happen.

Is this a known issue with MacOS 12 or is it a setting? I never experience this with my old 2013 Mac Pro running Big Sur. I did use time machine to bring over my apps and data over from my old Mac if that makes a difference

I have been experiencing the same thing, noticed it specifically with the Music app. I did some searching and could not find a specific fix or anything.

That wouldn't make a difference. I asked because I've seen some people double-click everywhere. That's not your problem. I have no idea why apps would open in the background.
