Hi All,

My applications keeps re-opening itself after a restart/shutdown.

I don't know what's the cause. "Close window when quitting applications" in General > System Pref is checked.

Checked already. It doesn't contain the applications that opened itself.
Which app(s) are you referring to? Check the following locations:
  • System Preferences > Accounts > yourusername > Login Items
(Lion and ML users: System Preferences > Users & Groups > yourusername > Login Items)

  • /Library/LaunchAgents/
(Lion and ML users: In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > then enter the path above)

  • ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
(Lion and ML users: In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > then enter the path above)

  • /Library/StartupItems/
(Lion and ML users: In Finder, click Go > Go to Folder > then enter the path above)

Good advice from GGJ.

Another thing.... toggle the "reopen" box off/on a few times in System Prefs and reboot after each change. (I'm not on ML right now so don't know the proper wording).

The toggle (checkbox) may not be "sticking" and this flag is not being saved properly. This has happened to me before in Lion.

Thank you, issue resolved.
