Applications "section" MISSING in iTunes

So my "Applications" section keeps going away in iTunes. The only way to make it come back is to download a new app that I do not currently have. This is rediculous. Does anyone have the same problem???

Go to Preferences and make sure Show: Applications is checked.

In iTunes, go to Edit>Preferences. Is 'Applications' checked in the "General" tab?

If it isn't place a check mark in the box and that should fix it.
