I have seen many apps updated 2 or 3 times since the launch of the 6 plus.

The native support for the device is pitiful at this point.

I was concerned about many things when I got this phone but now love it. I did not think a reason not to get it would be all these stretch apps that developers seems to think we are ok with.

What annoys me the most is that we're still getting app updates which still aren't optimised. Apple should do what they did with the iPhone 5 - no support for iPhone 6/6+ resolution? No approval.

But Apple gave them more than 3 weeks before they enforced that.

Apple didn't put that requirement in for
IPhone 5 for months.

It hasn't even been a month since iOS 8 was released let alone since the nee iPhones came out. People feel such entitlement about everything.

I think it's fair to say that when I've paid quite a lot of money for an app (I have apps which cost > £30), and the developer is releasing updates, that app should be updated for the new res. It's not amazingly difficult to do.

At what point in my post did I say they did it quickly? I didn't. I just said that they should do this if they want developers to update their apps. If you're going to backhandedly insult me, at least have the decency to read my post properly.

Sounds like for that kind of money you should be able to reach out directly to the developer and ask them about it.

The first part of my reply was in reply to your post. The second part in a separate paragraph was more of a generalized overall observation and wasn't aimed at you or your post since that's not what it was about.

Simple - They're focusing on making the apps work correctly on iOS 8 in general, before they start changing things in the UI for the bigger screens. If you don't do the first part, you will run into things in the second part.

I'm pretty sure they were all ready for iOS 8 too, but not the 5.5 screen, Apple Pay, and the other things announced at the last minute.

This is the best thing I've read about the optimization delay, and it makes a lot of sense. I would much rather use a functioning app that is slightly blown up than a native app that doesn't work right.

Our app was ready to go a few days after iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 launched - we were sitting in the review process for almost 3 weeks, and only just had our app approved last night.

Since it wasn't tested on Apple's 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 patches, some of our features aren't working. If we had known this we would've pulled the update and submitted a fixed one.

I'm assuming other developers have had a similar problem, and that's why they're delaying updates.

Are small bug fix releases from Apple having that much if an effect where whole fesures aren't working because of them?

Seems like it. We test the app quite thoroughly before submitting it. It ran fine on our test device, using the same build we submitted to Apple.

Today we updated our proper version using the App Store, and DLNA functionality is limited. It could be connected to their Wi-Fi fix, though we're still looking into it.
